Systems Documentation for the commissioning and validation process.
The process of control system documentation can be very detailed and requires a team that can collect the information from the site engineer, vendor, the integrator and the writer before it all forms a solid document depicting the actual system. This is the initial process for documenting the control system hardware.
Inputs, outputs, tagnames and graphics templates for the control parameters are the next step in the process. Ensuring the configuration of the templates is within the Design Specification is usually a complex task and requires the utmost dedication in verifying the I/O to the display graphics.
Verification that the equipment functions as specified, before it arrives with a Factory Acceptance Test, is a critical factor.
Performing a Site Acceptance Test once it arrives is vital to ensure that the equipment functions as tested at the factory and continues to function upon arrival and startup.
This is merely the beginning of the documentation and testing... the fun begins now!
